Darren Hudson first started his antiques career in 1992 when he left Drama School and between acting jobs went to work for the renowned dealer Patricia Harvey both in her shop and her Decorative Antiques Fair. After a few years he decided to venture out on his own and set up Hudson Grove Antiques and took a shop only doors from Patricia’s in Church Street Marylebone
Having run the shop successfully for many years, including moving to larger premises, Darren accepted the trend towards internet buying, hand in hand with exhibiting at large trade Fairs. Running a shop with its associated cost was making it difficult to be competitive. With that in mind he moved to a warehouse in 2015 and now operates through his website, a concession at Lorfords Antiques and continues to exhibit at the highly popular, thrice yearly, Decorative Antiques Fair.
In 2016 Darren joined as the Organiser of the Decorative Fair working alongside Jane Juran and the team, a role which he takes very seriously… continuing the tradition of being both a dealer and Organiser. A Fair for dealers, run by dealers Darren still continues to take his stand at the Fair allowing him to pursue his passion for buying, travelling the continent and owning wonderful items, all be it sometimes for a very short period of time. He constantly strives to have new and interesting stock for each Decorative Fair and is looking forward to the future challenges.
